Hardware

What's inside the interceptor.

Every interceptor is fitted with four components that work together, all mounted on or inside the vehicle, all operational within minutes.

01

5MP camera

Roof-mounted evidence camera with day and night IR.

02

4D Doppler radar

Tracks up to 120 vehicles across lanes, up to 200+ km/h.

03

Local Processing Unit

On-board AI for real-time detection at the edge.

04

Network Router

Cloud sync with automatic session location logging.

Real-time enforcement

Every violation,
automatically caught.

MTES does not just detect speed. It captures six categories of violations simultaneously, with evidence images for each.

Overspeeding evidence capture
01

Overspeeding

4D Doppler radar measures actual speed. Evidence image and speed reading captured per vehicle.

No helmet rider and pillion detection
02

No helmet (rider + pillion)

AI detects missing helmets on both the rider and the pillion passenger separately.

No seatbelt driver and passenger detection
03

No seatbelt (driver + passenger)

AI detects missing seatbelts for the driver and front-seat passenger independently.

Triple riding detection
04

Triple riding

AI counts occupants on two-wheelers and flags when more than two are detected.

Non-standard number plate detection
05

Non-standard number plate

System flags vehicles with plates that do not conform to HSRP standards.

Document violations via Vahan data check
06

Document violations

Cross-referenced with Vahan to check expired documents, insurance, and fitness certificates.

Verification

Two-level verification for accuracy.

Every violation goes through two independent reviews before a challan is issued. This ensures zero false positives reach the citizen.

Level 1

Enforcement Officer

On-site in the vehicle. Reviews the AI detection, verifies OCR accuracy, and can add or remove violations before submitting.

Level 2

RTO Officer

Remote, at the cloud dashboard. Second-level verification, final approval, and challan generation via NIC integration.

Access

Personal credentials

Officers at both levels log in with personal credentials for a full audit trail per officer.

Roles

Hierarchy-based access

Role-based permissions ensure accountability at every stage.

Status

Sync status tracking

Every violation shows its status:
Not Validated, Sync Pending, Synced.

Dashboards

Command and control dashboards.

Always on

Enforcement that never sleeps.

MTES works around the clock.

Night operations enforcement evidence
Night

Night operations

Integrated IR with 5MP camera enables full enforcement after dark. ANPR evidence images captured in complete darkness.

All-weather performance evidence
Weather

All-weather performance

Operates in rain, fog, and low-visibility conditions. Detection accuracy holds across environments.

Battery backup for continuous MTES operation
Power

Battery backup

Continuous operation in remote areas and during power fluctuations.

One-click enforcement session
Enforce

One-click enforcement

Officer starts a session, GPS auto-logs the location, and enforcement begins in minutes.

Integrations

Connected into national systems.

MTES does not operate in isolation. It connects directly to India's national enforcement and vehicle databases for end-to-end processing.

E-challan

NIC

Validated violations are pushed directly to NIC for automated challan issuance and delivery to the vehicle owner.

Integration

Vahan

Cross-check vehicle registration status, insurance validity, fitness certificate, and owner details in real time.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What is MTES?

MTES is an AI-powered system that transforms patrol vehicles into smart enforcement units. A roof-mounted camera, 4D Doppler radar, and on-board processor detect violations in real time while the vehicle is parked or moving.

How is it different from fixed gantry enforcement?

MTES requires no permanent infrastructure. It can be deployed at accident-prone zones, blackspots, or shifting locations. It brings enforcement to areas where building a gantry is not feasible or cost-effective.

What violations does it detect?

Overspeeding, no helmet (rider and pillion), no seatbelt (driver and passenger), triple riding, non-standard number plates, and document violations cross-referenced with Vahan and Sarathi databases.

How many vehicles can the radar track at once?

The 4D Doppler radar tracks up to 120 vehicles simultaneously across all lanes, with accurate speed measurement up to 200+ kmph.

Does it work at night?

Yes. The 9MP camera has IR capabilities for full night operations. Evidence images including ANPR are captured in complete darkness.

How are challans verified and issued?

Two-level verification. Level 1: the on-site enforcement officer reviews detections on the local dashboard. Level 2: an RTO officer reviews and approves on the cloud dashboard. Approved violations are pushed to NIC for e-challan.

How long does it take to start a session?

One click. The officer starts a session, GPS auto-logs the location, and the system is active. No manual calibration or complex setup required.

Where is it currently deployed?

69 interceptor vehicles deployed statewide in Maharashtra for the Motor Vehicles Department and Maharashtra Police. It is the largest mobile traffic enforcement deployment in India.

From manual to intelligent.
